ATM PIN NUMBER REVERSAL
A friend sent me the following instant message. I am not sure if this is true. Can someone verify?
If you should ever be forced by a robber to withdraw money from an ATM machine, you can notify the police by entering your Pin # in reverse. For example if your pin number is 1234 then you would put in 4321. The ATM recognizes that your pin number is backwards from the ATM card you placed in the machine. The machine will still give you the money you requested, but unknown to The robber, the police will be immediately dispatched to help you. This information was recently broadcasted on TV and it states that it is seldom used because people don’t know it exists. Please pass this along to everyone possible.
I call B.S.!
Besides, by the time the cops get there the robbers are already gone. And in Malaysia, do you think the cops will come just because of a signal from an ATM machine?
it doesnt work. if u got a pin that is the same when reversed then what happens
Ivan…you are right. That is a palindrome!
The fella who started forward this must be a total idiot. I asked back the person who forwarded this, and she said, “I just forward only.”
Typical dumb people.
A friend forwarded me this (although I didn’t forward that message to anyone): To the FOOLS who fwded the Reverse ATM msg, you are stupid to believe and forward this sort of rubbish! Before forwarding something, can I ask that you VALIDATE the information! I’ve tried it twice at a MAYBANK ATM machine on the 28/11/06 in Cyberjaya. When I tried to withdraw my money, the machine rejects my request and displays “Wrong PIN entered”. Read the fwd crap and ask yourself simple basic questions such as, where did this message originate from, when was this information broadcasted, which TV station boradcasted it? who is the freaking bank manager and which bank does he work for? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure this piece of info is BS! Now this THIS msg is worth passing to everyone in your list!
hey malc! firstly, i like ur blog title…
and well…so i a a FOOL. mana tahu, me too trusting kua…tot there might be some grain of truth in that mess 50-50 chance, mana tahu kan. good tat ppl have exactly tried it b4…u can enter incorrect pin no twice b4 ur card’s swollen, rite? thanx for the verifying mail.
aiyks! seems like cant trust anything tat circulates online nowdays la! *slap forehead*
don’t try the wrong PIN the third time or you will have your card swollen! =)
This is not implemented.
It was suggested by someone to a bank back then, but until now there’s no such implementation again. Do this and the thief thinks you’re trying to fool him and you’re ended up stabbed to death.
Pick one.
