A Mother’s Love
Not too long ago, a friend asked how long I have left home. My thoughts ran deep. I reminisce the day I left home seven years ago to join Multimedia University in a quiet town of Ayer Keroh, Malacca. Despite not being the first time leaving home, I did feel sad to leave my parents at home. My mum had tears welling in her eyes when I waved from the car driven by my dad. He drove me from Sitiawan to Melaka for MMU’s orientation in April 2000.
I wanted to be by her side as much as she wanted to be by my side. We are like best friends but of course more than best friends. We often had heart-to-heart talk and also pillow talk at times. She often went the extra mile by making sure I had enough food at scout camps. She will bring food from home despite knowing how independent I am. That is how much she loves me till this day.
It is a wonder how fast time flies that I am now busy working in KL. This Eidulfitri is the longest leave I ever had since I started work. My mum was very happy that I will be at home for 9 days. I could see the joy in her eyes. That reminds me to be home more often.
Yeah, good feeling to be home.
Might be a ‘lil late, but have a good Raya mate. :)
